The Masters 2021
|
Looking forward to this, back in it's rightful Spring spot. I can't be backing guys less than 20/1
Morikawa 30/1 (nap) well if his new putting stroke holds up.
Berger 25/1
Cameron Smith 35/1
Best chance of an English win
Matt Fitzpatrick 50/1
One I always throw a few pounds on ew:
Shane Lowry 125/1 (prices bet365)
---------------------------------------------------------------
Some history of past drama and heartaches :
It was 25 years ago, Greg Norman established a course record 63 in the opening round and took a six-shot lead into the final round over Nick Faldo, but bogeyed holes 9, 10 and 11. When his tee ball found Rae's Creek in front of the 12th green, it was all over and Faldo won in a canter.
In the 2011 Masters, young Rory McIlroy was poised to become a champion of a major for the first time. When McIlroy got to the 10th tee Sunday afternoon, his four-shot lead had vanished, but he was still tied for the lead. But he hit one of the great pull-hooks of our time and sent his ball to a place few have ever gone before: within the shadow of the Eisenhower Cabin. That started a downward spiral for the youngster that included a triple-bogey on the 10th, a four-putt for a double bogey on the 12th and then dunking his tee shot in Rae's Creek on the left side of the 13th fairway. In the end, he shot 80 and finished in a tie for 15th.
2016 Jordan Speith had a 5 shot lead entering the back 9 on Sunday. At Rae’s Creek after knocking his fifth shot over the green, Spieth gets up and down from the back bunker for a quadruple-bogey 7. After going six over for a three-hole stretch, he now trails Willett by three. It’s a remarkable eight-shot swing in about 40 minutes. Danny goes on to win.

Yup Zalatoris is definitely one for the future no fear at that age and his club head speed is amazing seeing that he's about 10 stone soaking wet ! Just shows you that it's the body coil that produces such power unless you have a bulked up swing like DeChambeau !

Rahm is only 26, not well north of 40, like Westwood and Casey.

Matsuyama deserved it played so well the last 2 days......especially sat
Zalatoris hugely impressive on his first ever masters, one to watch for sure. Shaufelle must win one eventually, too much talent to not win a major......but then same been said before eg Westy....Casey.....Rahm

I think those 2 horse shoes summed up Justin Rose day !!

BIG PAT won me a few shekels.
What a Cinderella story Zalatoris would have been if he’d nicked it. Shame but he’ll have a great future, no doubt.

that's few times Xander has played brilliant to get in contention, only to bottled the opportunity. It was heading for a dramatic finish.

I had a cheeky e/w on Leishman yesterday morning which is looking an even better bet now. He's come good on e/w for me before.
Of my others, Speith is right in there for e/w but I think Fitzpatrick is too far back now.
Tall order for Rosie but would absolutely love it if he won it but it's Matsuyama's to lose now I suspect.

Grumpter, 4 shots can go in the blink of an eye at Augusta, has history as shown. While he may cruise to victory, I wouldn't be given him the green jacket just yet.
